The Role This is a contract remote role for a Software Engineering Lead with the potential to grow into our next Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This is not a narrow role: you will code, lead, deploy, and manage multiple client and internal projects simultaneously. You’ll be a technical leader, unblock and guide engineers, and interface directly with clients and product managers — while keeping a strategic eye on metrics, performance, and delivery. A typical day may include: One hour coding on a client project, directly building features. Two hours on another client project, directly building features. Several hours supporting the engineering team, removing blockers, aligning with PMs. Time spent deploying projects to Vercel, AWS, Railway, or other cloud providers. Reviewing reports, generating metrics, and aligning project status with leadership. This is a hands-on role where leadership and execution go hand in hand. Responsabilities Lead technical direction across multiple projects simultaneously. Actively contribute code in Type Script (Node.js, React, Next.js, Nest.js), Flutter/Flutter Flow, and occasionally low/no-code tools (Bubble, N8n, etc.). Manage deployments and infrastructure in Vercel, AWS, Railway, and other clouds. Guide engineers, unblock technical challenges, and enforce best practices. Coordinate with product managers and stakeholders to ensure project alignment. Track project metrics, prepare reports, and provide technical insights to leadership. Balance versatility: switching contexts quickly between different clients and products. Communicate effectively with English-speaking clients and teams. Communicate effectively with Portuguese(Brazil)-speaking clients and teams. Qualifications Prior Mid-level or Senior Software Engineering career Strong experience in Type Script, React/Next.js, Nest.js, and Node.js. Solid understanding of mobile development (Flutter or Flutter Flow). Familiarity with no-code/low-code platforms (Bubble, N8n) is a plus. Comfortable managing cloud deployments (Vercel, AWS, Railway, etc.). Experience leading technical teams and mentoring developers. Ability to juggle multiple projects in parallel, across different contexts. Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken). Strong communication skills in Portuguese (Brazil) (written and spoken). Versatile, hands-on, and comfortable with both leadership and coding. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: On a full-time (8-hour/day, non-exclusive contract) setup: R$6.000 – R$10.000 (depending on experience). Profit-sharing (after promotion to CTO): Based on last year’s results, for this position, the amount would be around R$100,000. We are growing fast, so the upside for next year is significant. Equity participation: Up to 1%. Work Arrangement First 3 months: Lower base salary + flexible working hours, allowing you to keep other commitments while transitioning. After 3 months: Minimum of 6 hours/day (part-time), with the option to grow into 8 hours/day (full-time). Remote-first environment with international exposure. Career Growth Clear path to CTO with increasing ownership and responsibility. Opportunity to work on innovative, international projects across multiple industries. Be part of a high-performing team where versatility and hands-on execution are valued. Hiring Process We keep it simple and fast: 1–2 interviews (technical + cultural). Optional technical test. Real evaluation happens during the first 3 months. If you are a versatile engineer with leadership skills, fluent in English, and ready to grow into a CTO role - we’d love to meet you.
