Our client is a company starting its operations in Brazil within the energy sector, focusing on innovative and sustainable solutions.
Reporting to an international investor, this professional will be responsible for leading the financial structuring and management of the startup in Brazil, establishing processes, implementing fundraising strategies, and managing the financial risks of a highly complex business with significant growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Management: Develop, implement, monitor financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives and arranging and implementing FOREX hedging;
- Planning and Control: Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring efficient resource allocation;
- Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax, fiscal, and regulatory standards, managing financial and operational risks.
- Capital Raising: Structure financial operations, secure investments, and manage relationships with banks, investors, and external stakeholders.
- Financial Reporting and Control: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Team Leadership and Development: Coordinate and develop teams across finance, controllership, accounting, tax, and treasury functions.
- Corporate Governance: Contribute to the implementation of best governance practices, promoting transparency and trust among shareholders and investors.
- Innovation and Efficiency: Identify opportunities for process automation and improvements in financial and operational activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related fields. A postgraduate degree or MBA in Finance, Business Management, or related areas is a plus.
- Proven experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in large or multinational companies - energy, infrastructure, mining, or oil and gas sectors.
- Strong expertise in financial management, tax, controllership, treasury, auditing, and compliance.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and BI tools is highly desirable.
- Critical thinking, strategic decision-making, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages are a plus.
