Our client is a multinational company with a strong presence in Brazil.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of the department, this professional will be responsible for the accurate application of local (CPC/IFRS) and international (US GAAP) accounting standards with a high degree of autonomy and technical depth.
The main responsibilities of this professional will be:
- Act as the technical reference point for the accounting team on high-complexity topics;
- Mentor and support senior analysts and other team members;
- Participate in accounting committees with internal teams (Operations, Compliance, Internal Controls, Internal Audit, Legal, Tax, etc.);
- Serve as the main technical contact during external audits, leading key topic discussions and coordinating deliverables;
- Ensure accurate application of CPC/IFRS and US GAAP in complex transactions (e.g., business combinations, corporate restructurings, impairment, leases, financial instruments);
- Prepare and review mandatory accounting reports for global headquarters, including analytical commentaries, technical memos, policy applications, and recommendations for adjustments or reclassifications;
- Support and lead implementation of new or revised accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 9, 15, 16), ensuring alignment with US GAAP and corporate guidelines;
- Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial statements and explanatory notes, ensuring consistency, transparency, and regulatory compliance;
- Participate in the preparation of ancillary obligations such as Sped Contábil;
- Drive standardization and automation of technical accounting procedures and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Conduct in-depth financial statement analysis and prepare technical reports;
- Use ERP and reconciliation tools such as JDEdwards and Blackline to ensure data accuracy;
- Leverage advanced Excel capabilities for analysis; Power BI knowledge is a plus;
- Collaborate with financial planning, tax, and transfer pricing teams to ensure accounting records comply with fiscal and regulatory frameworks;
- Support internal control testing and assist compliance in monitoring accounting-related risks.
